Immerse yourself in the rich history of the lunar calendar through spectacular performances, dazzling light installations, mouthwatering food markets, and family-friendly activities.

Prepare to be dazzled by Lunar Lanterns on George Street, Sydney Lunar Streets in Haymarket, Dixon Street Mall decorations, dragon boat races, and more than 80 exciting associated events from 29 January to 16 February.

Year of The Snake

The Snake is the sixth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac and is associated with wisdom, intuition, and strategic growth.

Step into into the exclusive art-deco locale at Kimpton Margot and usher in the Year of The Snake. 

Enjoy the essence of the Kweichow Moutai - the most revered of Chinese liquors. Primarily consumed as a celebratory drink, its aroma and taste are reminiscent of Soy Sauce, pear, walnut and almond.

Sydney Lunar Streets – Haymarket street festival

Saturday 1 February from 5pm to 10pm

Kick off your Lunar New Year celebrations at Sydney Lunar Streets!

Wander through the gitz of Haymarket, fulled with traditional & contemporary performances across three sites. End the night with a leisurely stroll up George Street to admire the dazzling 12 zodiac animal lanterns.  

Lunar Spectacular

Saturday 8 February from 2pm to 6:20pm

Cultural groups will take to one of Sydney's state-of-the-art venue facilities at the Centennial Hall for this years Lunar Spectacular in a vibrant celebration of dance, music and song. Enjoy performances from Australia International Elite Cultural Arts Centre, Sydney Soran Dance Troupe and the beloved Australia Harmonic Choir.
